Selling stuff online is tough. Seriously.
I’ve tried creating my own websites and landing pages. I’ve tried hiring developers, copywriters, and conversion rate experts. Sure you eventually get it, but It’s a LOT of work.
Even after all that work I still kept on asking my self a question many entrepreneurs forget:
Am I even making money?
That was the turning point where I realized that I can’t be spending all my time trying to create something that already exists. I wanted to focus more on my brand instead of saving a couple bucks here and there.
Not surprisingly there already was a sales funnel builder out on the market called Click Funnels.
Click funnels saves you the hassle of building out your sales funnel by doing all the heavy lifting for you. You don’t need to know how to code. You don’t need to know how to design a page or write good copy that converts. All you need to do is use the easy WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor to create your sales funnels.
Today, I want to walk you through my personal experience using Click Funnels.
We’ll dive head first into the first page you see when you purchase Click Funnels.
Click Funnels Dashboard
Their interface is simple and modern. It’s nice to not be overwhelmed with bunch of information.
The main feed on the dashboard has bunch of tutorials and events. Things like setting up Stripe as a Payment Gateway. These will be handy as you explore more and more.
On a more impressive note, Wealthy Affiliate has a sweet Facebook-esque dashboard. You know, the kind where you can’t help but to scroll through it during work hours (you know who you are!).
The left-hand side of the dashboard contains membership limits, affiliate earnings report, and some quick links to the their product suite.
Also, they use gamification to entice you to interact with it more. Affiliate marketing can get lonely, so it’s nice to be able to have a little fun. You can earn badges and ranking as you do more work on the platform.
On the right-hand side of the dashboard, you’ll see bunch of analytics like gross revenue, successful purchases, optins, page views, etc. It’s quite useful to have a graphical view of your analytics.
There isn’t much to the interface beside that. Click Funnel’s interface is simple and to the point. They’ve done a fantastic job at making it simple for the user.
Next, I’ll walk you through an in-depth look at the funnel builder.
What Can Click Funnels Do?
Click Funnels is a sales funnel builder that helps businesses market and sell their product online. It is a platform where you can build out funnels where your prospective clients will go through a series of web pages with the ultimate goal of selling them your product.
It sounds a bit of like mumbo jumbo. So let me walk you through the process of building a sales funnel on Click Funnels.
There are two types of ways to scaffold a funnel: As a cookbook builder or a classic funnel builder.
The cookbook builder process gives you pre-made sales funnels. An example of this would a survey funnel where you drive your traffic to a survey. And based on the information your users provide, they will be directed differently. For example, if you answer yes to “Are you a male?” question, then you might be directed to a video specifically for men.
With Classic Funnel Builder, there are more options to customize your funnels steps.
Either way, you’ll eventually end up on this page where you’ll do most of the editing.
As you can see, Click Funnels provide templates that are proven to convert. They’ve tested thousands of landing pages and give you a curated list of designs that are more likely to convert.
You can edit them in various ways.
Once you complete editing your funnel steps, you’re ready to send out your funnel link. When a user clicks on that link, they’ll be directed along the steps made in your funnel.
How Much Does Click Funnel Cost?
Click Funnels has two subscription plans. One costs $97/month and the premium (etison Suite) costs $297 / month.
The big difference between the two is the lower cost subscription gives you limited capabilities:
- Max # of Funnels: 20
- Max # of Pages: 100
- Max # of Visitors: 20,000
- Max # custom domains: 3
Is Click Funnels Legit?
Click Funnels is legit. However, it may not be legit in a sense you might be implying.
If you think purchasing Click Funnels is magically going to make your business thrive, then no it’s not legit.
Click Funnels is simply a tool. Just as a hammer does not make you a great handyman, Click Funnels will not make you a great marketer.
If you are in the affiliate marketing scene, you will see tons of marketers use Click Funnels to drive their business. That alone should speak volumes.
If you’re wondering if Click Funnels is a pyramid scheme, I’ll be the first to tell you that it’s not. Many people are weary because they have an affiliate program which is how they propel their sales.
What’s a Sales Funnel and Why Would I Want to Use it?
A sales funnel is the process that leads prospective customers to a purchase of a product.
Similar to how a real funnel allows a huge input but a small output, a sales funnel grabs a lot of traffic and then a fraction of those people make purchases.
This all good and dandy but why should we use a sales funnel to market our product?
Well, if you think about what a brick and mortar business might do, it might put it in perspective for us. A brick and mortar business that handles kitchen appliances might hire a salesman to guide a customer through several phases of a buying process:
- Let the customer know of a product and it’s features
- Show the customer how it will help them
- Get them situated and talk to them about possible financing
- Ask customer to make a decision to buy
Similarly, an online business wants to guide the customer to a buying process but doesn’t want to be bogged down by a single salesmen who can only talk to one customer at a time. Hence sales funnels were born!
Why use Click Funnels? Can’t I just create websites myself?
You can but let’s walk through the mental process of how you would go on and build your own online sales funnel.
The raw form of an online sales funnel is actually just a series of web pages that redirect from one to another.
So first, we would sign up with a cheap hosting like bluehost. They make it super easy to set up a website.
Ok, now… we need a landing page that attracts viewers to our product and entice them to move along in our sales funnel. But wait, I would have to develop that page by arranging all the HTML elements and tweaking the CSS to style it. We would also have to test several iterations of templates we create to see which ones are more effective.
You see what happening here?
Even if you did hire a developer, it would certainly cost more than $300 / month. On top of that, you have overhead.
